Manassas Man Arrested for Hitting Tow Truck with Machete

Marco Tulio Hernandez, 34, of Manassas, reportedly brandished a machete and beat the hood of a tow truck preparing to tow his car, according to Prince William County Police.

A Manassas man was arrested Monday for attempting to wound two tow truck drivers with a Machete, according to Prince William County Police.

Officers responded to the incident at 6:27 p.m at the corner of Irongate Way and Winchester Circuit in Manassas. 

The victims, a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old man both from Manassas, were towing a vehicle from the area when they were approached by the vehicle's owner, Marco Tulio Hernandez, 34, of Manassas.

During the encounter, Hernandez became agitated and retrieved a machete from his vehicle. He then reportedly stood in front of the tow truck and repeatedly struck the hood of the vehicle with the machete, according to police.

The victims contacted police and officers detained Hernandez. No parties were injured in the incident.

Hernandez is being charged with attempted malicious wounding, brandishing a machete, and destruction of property. He is being held without bond and will appear before court July 31.
