Manassas Man Charged in Golf Cart Crash in Louisa County

Eight people were in the golf cart at the time of the accident, Virginia State Police said.

A 74-year-old Manassas grandfather faces reckless driving charges after the golf cart he was driving on Memorial Day overturned, injuring several members of his family, Virginia State Police said in a press release. 

The accident happened in Mineral, a small community in Louisa County, according to NBC news reports. Police said it happened at 2:45 p.m. near Lake Anna.

The 2005 EZGO golf cart driven by John R. Mleziva overturned and landed on the passenger side, injuring all eight occupants, Virginia Police said.

Mleziva's wife reportedly suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries and was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center.

The driver suffered minor injuries.

The couple's son and his wife, both of Fairfax, and their four children including a 3-year-old daughter, were also in the cart and suffered minor injuries.
