Scripps Spelling Bee Results: Manassas Student's Journey
Chistopher Shoemaker successfully completes two rounds on the stage at national spelling bee, but not a semifinalist.

Can you spell Gadarene? How about Gopak? Metz Middle School student Christopher Shoemaker sure can.
Christopher spelled both of these words correctly and advanced through the second and third rounds of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the Scripps website.
But Shoemaker is not among semi-finalists announced Wednesday, which includes results from a preliminary computer round. The spelling bee finals will air on ESPN from 8 to 10 p.m.

Shoemaker was one of 281 who qualified for the highly-touted bee.
Christopher won the Prince William Spelling Bee on March 8 which qualified him for the big dance in Washington.
