Sentencing in Illegal Gun Dealing Case in Manassas

Kimberly Yvette Dinkins was sentenced to 18 months in prison after buying 31 handguns in 15 days.

A Manassas woman was sentenced to 18 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release, for dealing firearms without a license, U.S. Attorney Neil MacBride announced Friday.

Kimberly Yvette Dinkins, 44, purchased 31 handguns on three consecutive weekends from Nov. 17 through Dec. 1, 2012. Prosecutors said that she purchased 13 at a gun show in Chantilly, nine at a show in Richmond and nine in Hampton with the intention of selling the firearms for profit.

Authorities recovered the firearms bought and sold by Dinkins in cases involving juveniles and felons who used them during drug trafficking schemes.
