Another Democrat Enters Race For Gainesville District Supervisor
A Navy veteran and financial consultant joined the race for Gainesville District supervisor ahead of a Democratic nominating caucus.

GAINESVILLE, VA — Another Democrat has entered the race to seek the party's nomination for Gainesville District supervisor.
George T. Stewart, a Navy veteran, financial consultant and community advocate, is running as a Democrat in the Gainesville District supervisor race. According to his campaign announcement, Stewart's decision to run is due to "concerns over the unchecked spread of data centers across western Prince William County."
"We deserve leadership that puts people before profits," Stewart said. "Our families should not have to sacrifice clean air, green space, or peace of mind to corporate interests."

The military veteran has served on the Dominion Valley Board, has supported Democratic campaigns including Abigail Spanberger for governor, and has advocated for labor rights at the state and local levels. He has worked for decades in finance, including as a consultant with Merrill Lynch and as an equity trader with the Schonfeld Group. Stewart also founded GeoScope Media, a firm working to support community voices and mission-driven brands.
