New Thrift Store Coming to Manassas on Sept. 18

The store is operated by Oakton-based Northern Virginia Family Service.

A new thrift store is coming to Manassas on Sept. 18.
Northern Virginia Family Service, a nonprofit with the mission of helping families and children, is planning to open a new Save 'N' Serve store at 10360 Portsmouth Rd. just off Sudley Road in the same shopping center Toys 'R' Us and Family Christian Stores, Jacqueline Pujol, communications specialist for Northern Virginia Family Service said.

"The 4,397 square foot location will offer bargain hunters deals on clothing, shoes, accessories, books, housewares, linens, small appliances, records, CDs (compact discs) artwork, sporting goods, gift items, collectibles, estate goods and luggage," Pujol wrote.

New and gently used donations for the new store (no broken or dirty items) can be dropped off at the Save 'N' Serve locations in Centreville and Falls Church.  Donations are accepted each week day between 10 and 5 p.m. and Sundays between 12 to 5 p.m.

The agency is also looking for helpers to volunteer their time to get the merchandise ready for the opening. To volunteer contact Jan Hawkins at jhawkins@nvfs.org or 571-748-2621.
