Northern Virginia Housing Expo at Meridian High School on April 12

15th Annual Free Public Event Offers Classes, Coaching and Experts for Renters and First-Time Buyers

Falls Church, Va. – Renters and first-time buyers looking to live in Northern Virginia can take advantage of all the free resources at the 2025 Northern Virginia Housing Expo, a regional housing fair, at Meridian High School on April 12, 2025, from 10 am to 3 pm. This free public event showcases both first-time homeownership and rental opportunities and resources throughout Northern Virginia. Visitors can speak with experts in the exhibit hall, attend a variety of informational workshops and take advantage of individual financial coaching from certified volunteer coaches.

The Northern Virginia Housing Expo also features vast online resources, with its online exhibit hall drawing more than 216,000 visits in 2024. Visitors to www.NoVaHousingExpo.org can also view a variety of helpful webinars and sign up for virtual financial coaching anytime throughout the year.

The expo will feature workshops and exhibits designed to educate attendees about getting and staying creditworthy, first-time buyer programs, rental assistance programs, senior housing options, tax implications of owning a home, working with a Realtor, and more. Upon arrival, visitors will be able to sign up for a financial coaching session with a trained volunteer from Britepaths, a Fairfax County nonprofit. Exhibitor spots are still available for the 15th annual expo, which is free to the public thanks to a variety of sponsorships, including funding from: Virginia Housing; the Prince William Office of Housing and Community Development; the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors®; Loudoun County’s Department of Housing and Community Development; Arlington County Housing Division; Alexandria Office of Housing; Manassas Park Department of Community Services; and the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

The expo is underwritten by Virginia Housing and is made possible by a collaboration of local, state and federal housing agencies and other stakeholders. Participants in the planning include representatives from Prince William, Fairfax, Arlington and Loudoun Counties; the Cities of Falls Church, Alexandria, Fairfax and Manassas Park; the US Department of Housing and Urban Development; the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors®; and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Laura K. Nickle, president of Communi-k, Inc., is the event manager; First Home Alliance of Woodbridge, Va., is the nonprofit partner for the event.
