Sterling Woman Dies After Falling Off Vehicle In Driveway In Prince William County

Prince William County Police say a woman died days after falling off a moving vehicle in a driveway.

NOKESVILLE, VA — A woman from Sterling has died after injuries from falling off a moving vehicle in a driveway in Nokesville, Prince William County Police say.

The incident happened around 9:06 p.m. on May 31 on a private gravel driveway in the 11100 block of Kettle Run Rd. in Nokesville. Police say a 1992 Mazda Miata was driving down the driveway with a passenger sitting on the rear of the vehicle. The driver accelerated the vehicle at one point, causing the passenger to fall off and hit her head on the ground.

The passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but police were notified on Wednesday that she died of her injuries.

The woman was identified as Anne Marie Renee Cortazzi, 20, of Sterling. The driver is a 20-year-old man from Manassas.

Police continue to investigate the fatal incident.
