MANASSAS, VA — Pay increased for two elected positions in the City of Manassas will be considered by City Council at its next meeting on Monday.

The pay increases are proposed for the commissioner of the revenue and treasurer. If approved, pay for the two positions would increase by 3 percent, effective April 1. The current salary range for the positions is $100,000 to $159,277.

Salary increases for the two positions can be decided by City Council under the city charter and Virginia code. Pay increases for all general city employees could be decided in the upcoming budget process. City Council will receive the budget proposal Monday from Douglas Keen, the police chief who served as the interim city manager.
