PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A report is shedding light on the federal investigation into race-based harassment incidents at Prince William County's Brentsville District High School.

The U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights did an investigation into how Prince William County Schools addressed 2019 racial discrimination incidents at Brentsville District High School. Inside Nova first reported the flaws of PWCS's response to the reported incidents.

The federal investigators concluded that the school district did not properly end the "racially hostile environment for Black students." In addition, investigators identified a concern with not properly addressing antisemitic harassment.

PWCS had announced an agreement with the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights in August. The agreement outlines actions Brentsville District High School and PWCS as a whole are taking to improve the school environment in light of the racial discrimination incidents.
