In a unanimous vote, members of the Bull Run Unitarian Universalist (BRUU) Congregation of Manassas named Reverend Scott McNeill its next settled minister.
Rev. McNeill earned his BA in Race and Gender Studies at the University of North Carolina in Asheville. He received his Master of Divinity degree at Meadville/Lombard Theological School, where he was awarded the Charles Billings Prize in Preaching and the Clayton Bowen Prize in New Testament Studies.
McNeill was ordained at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, Virginia, where he also completed his parish internship.

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee awarded McNeill the Mary Ella Holst Youth Activist award for his work addressing homelessness and voter registration.
McNeill has served as settled minister at Second Unitarian Universalists in Omaha, Nebraska since Aug. 2010. He is married to the Reverend Sarah Gettie McNeill and has a 15-month-old son named Elijah.Find out what's happening in Manassasfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
