Victim Escapes Sexual Assault Attempt At Prince William County Park: Police
A park visitor helped a woman contact police after a masked man's attempted sexual assault in the park, according to county police.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A woman escaped a sexual assault attempt in the Nokesville area of Prince William County Tuesday, according to police.
Officers had responded to an attempted sexual assault report around 9:37 a.m. Tuesday to Nokesville Park at 12560 Aden Road in Nokesville. Police say an adult woman was walking along a trail near Hickerson Lane when a masked man approached and tried to sexually assault her. A struggle resulted, and the victim ultimately separated from the suspect.
Another park visitor located the victim and helped her contact police. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Officers and a K-9 unit searched the area but did not find the suspect. Police do not know if the victim and suspect know each other.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect. The suspect is described as a white or light-skinned man around 5 foot 9 with an average build, brown eyes and dark bushy eyebrows. He was wearing dark-colored clothing, including a long-sleeve shirt made from dry-wicking material, sweatpants, and a ski-style mask only showing his eyes.
