MANASSAS, VA — A snow emergency is in effect in the City of Manassas, which means parking restrictions will be in place during the winter storm.

The snow emergency started at 8 a.m. Tuesday. Residents are asked to not park vehicles on snow emergency routes to accommodate plowing.

"By enacting this parking restriction, if you see a sign that says snow emergency route, please don't park there," said new City Manager Steve Burke. "That assists us in removing snow from the arterial and collector roads so that we can better negotiate through the winter weather event."
