No Active Threat To Manassas School Found: Police

Police and school officials were investigating a social media post affecting a Manassas public school on Thursday.

MANASSAS, VA — A potential social media threat to Osbourn High School in Manassas was investigated by Manassas City Public Schools and the Manassas City Police Department. Police determined there was no active threat.

The school system said it became aware of a social media post regarding Osbourn High School. Police were investigating to determine if it is credible. Initially, Manassas Police do not believe the threat is credible. The investigation is active, and there is an increased police presence around the school.

Police said in a 7:30 p.m. update that the investigation has ended, but an additional police presence at Osbourn High School is planned as a precaution.
