Train Strikes Vehicle After Leaving Manassas Station, 1 Injured

Authorities responded to a train crash with a vehicle Tuesday morning in Prince William County.

BRISTOW, VA — A train struck a vehicle in Bristow not long after the train left the Manassas station Tuesday morning.

The Prince William Professional Firefighters union reported that the collision involved an Amtrak train and a pickup truck at a train crossing location on Bristow Road. The crash caused the truck to be thrown off the tracks, and units had to extricate the trapped occupant. The driver was taken to trauma center with serious injuries.

The collision shut down the train tracks as well as an area of Bristow Road.
