Two-Vehicle Crash Kills Woman In Gainesville: Police
A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in late Tuesday morning in Gainesville, according to Prince William County Police.

GAINESVILLE, VA—A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the area of Lee Highway and Heathcote Boulevard late Tuesday morning, according to Prince William County Police. Josephine Bernadine Cooke, 89, of Gainesville, was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., police went to the scene and found that a 2001 Jeep Cherokee driven by Cooke was trying to turn left onto Heathcote Boulevard from northbound Lee Highway. But she collided with a 2002 Peterbilt tractor headed south on Lee Highway.
The driver of the tractor remained on the scene before being taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Police say no charges are pending.
