U.S. Marshals, Task Force Apprehend Fugitive

Authorities took Armando Uvario-Romo, who was wanted in Stafford County for sexually assaulting a minor, into custody Tuesday.

Law enforcement officers captured a Stafford County fugitive at his girlfriend's home in Manassas Tuesday morning, the U.S. Marshals Service announced.

Armando Uvario-Romo was wanted in Stafford County for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old, according to a Marshals Service press release. Authorities said that he was living at his girlfriend's Manassas home, even though she was aware of his criminal history. The girlfriend tried to conceal Uvario-Romo's location by ignoring police presence at the front door, while he tried to flee out the back, the Marshals Service stated in the release.

A task force consisting of law enforcement officers from the Diplomatic Security Service, Fairfax County Sheriff's Office made the arrest. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office has taken him into custody for prosecution.
