What's Open, Closed For Labor Day 2025 In Manassas

The Labor Day holiday, the unofficial farewell to summer, will bring closures around Manassas and Prince William County.

MANASSAS, VA — Although the last day of summer isn't until Sept. 21, residents will unofficially say farewell to summer over Labor Day weekend. That's when many families will have one last backyard barbecue, visits to the local pools or trips to the beach.

Many services will close or have adjusted schedules for the Labor Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 1. Here are the closures to know around Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William County.

City of Manassas government: Closed on Sept. 1.

Prince William County government: Closed on Sept. 1.

Manassas City Public Schools: Closed on Aug. 29 and Sept. 1.

Manassas Park Public Schools: The division is closed on Aug. 29 and Sept. 1.

Prince William County Public Schools: Schools and offices are closed on Aug. 29 and Sept. 1.

Prince William County courts: General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and Circuit Court will be closed on Sept. 1.

Community centers: The Manassas Community Center at Marsteller Park and Manassas Park Community Center are closed on Sept. 1.

Department of Motor Vehicles: All DMV customer service centers in Northern Virginia will be closed on Sept. 1.

Library: All Prince William County Public Library branches will be closed from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1. Manassas Park City Library is closed on Sept. 1.

Metro: On Sept. 1, Metrorail will open at 6 a.m. and close at midnight with regular Sunday service, and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule. MetroAccess riders may make a reservation, but subscription trips will be canceled. Naylor Road, Suitland, and Branch Av stations are closed Aug. 30 and 31 with free shuttle buses as a replacement. The closed stations will reopen on Sept. 1. More weekend Metrorail information and Labor Day information is available on Metro's website.

OmniRide: OmniRide Express & Manassas Metro Express will not run on Sept. 1. OmniRide Prince William Metro Express & East-West Express and OmniRide Local will have Saturday weekend service.

Outdoor pools: Stonewall Park Pool is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 before closing for the season. SplashDown Waterpark, Waterworks Waterpark, Veterans Memorial Park Pool and Birchdale Community Pool are open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 before closing for the season. The pools are closed on Aug. 29. Graham Park Pool and Hammill Mill Pool are already closed for the season. Signal Bay Waterpark is open from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 1.

Post offices: Closed on Sept. 1.

Recreation centers: Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center are closed on Sept. 1.

Trash and recycling: City of Manassas will move collections one day later during the week of Sept. 1. Saturday's scheduled collections will remain on the same day. Yard waste will be collected on the regularly scheduled day. The Prince William County Landfill and Compost Facility will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 1. Private collection customers should contact their hauler for any schedule changes.

Virginia Railway Express: VRE does not run on Labor Day.
