What's Open, Closed For Memorial Day 2025 In Manassas
Residents can expect service adjustments or closures and a Memorial Day ceremony for the holiday.
MANASSAS, VA — Memorial Day weekend serves as a kickoff to the summer season and a time to reflect on American military servicemembers who have died during their service.
Manassas National Battlefield Park will have Memorial Day observances on May 24 to 26. Some highlights include the Faces of the Fallen Exhibit dedication and unveiling, Faces of the Fallen Ranger Guided Tour (First Manassas and Second Manassas), Life and Death in the Civil War Walking Tour, Recitation of the Names of the Manassas Fallen and Salute Firing/Artillery Demonstrations.

City of Manassas government offices: Closed on Monday, May 26.
Prince William County government offices: Closed on May 26.

City of Manassas Park government offices: Closed on May 26.
Manassas City Public Schools: Closed on May 26.
Prince William County Public Schools: Closed on May 26.
Manassas Park Public Schools: Schools and offices are closed on May 26.
Community centers: The Manassas Park Community Center will be closed on May 26. The Manassas Community Center at Marsteller Park only opens for programming, and there is nothing scheduled on May 26.
Courts: Prince William County Circuit Court, General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court and Circuit Court Clerk's Office are closed on May 26.
Department of Motor Vehicles: DMV offices are closed on May 26, and some services are available online at dmv.virginia.gov.
Libraries: All Prince William County Public Libraries locations will be closed from May 24 to 26. The Manassas Park Library is closed on May 26.
Metro: Monday Metrorail hours are 7 a.m. to midnight. On the Orange Line, free shuttle buses replace trains between Eastern Market and Cheverly. The Deanwood, Minnesota Ave, Stadium-Armory, and Potomac Ave stations are closed. On the Silver and Blue Lines, free shuttle buses replace trains between Eastern Market and Addison Road. The Potomac Ave, Stadium-Armory, Benning Road, and Capitol Heights stations are closed. Riders should use Silver or Orange line trains to continue traveling east of Federal Center SW. OmniRide: OmniRide Express and Manassas Metro Express will not run on May 26. OmniRide Prince William Metro Express, East-West Express and OmniRide will run on a Saturday/weekend schedule.
Outdoor pools: Stonewall Park Pool will be open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Atlantis Waterpark at Bull Run will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and SplashDown Waterpark will be open 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 26. Signal Bay Waterpark is not expected to open for the season until June 23.
Parks and recreation: Pat White Center at Ben Lomond, Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center and Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center are closed on May 26.
Post offices: Closed on May 26.
Trash and recycling: City of Manassas will have no changes to the trash pickup and yard waste schedule during the week of May 26. Residents with private collection services should check with their provider for schedule changes. The Prince William County landfill closes at 2 p.m. on May 26.
Virginia Railway Express: VRE does not run on Memorial Day.
