What's Open, Closed For New Year's 2025 In Manassas
As 2025 begins, there will be various closures and schedule changes for the New Year's holiday in Manassas.
MANASSAS, VA — After closures during the Christmas holiday, residents will get more a week later as they count down to 2025.
This year, New Year's Day falls on Wednesday, Jan. 1 and may result in holiday closures and schedule changes on Dec. 31 as well. In Manassas and Prince William County, schools continue to be closed for the extended winter break. Local government offices and some other services will be closed for several days.
Here are all the openings and closings to know around Manassas and Prince William County for New Year's Eve on Dec. 31 and New Year's Day on Jan. 1.

City of Manassas government offices: Closed on Jan. 1.

Prince William County government offices: Closed on Jan. 1.
Manassas Park government offices: Closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Manassas City Public Schools: Closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.
Prince William County Public Schools: Closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.
Manassas Park City Schools: Closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.
ABC Stores: Virginia ABC stores typically close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Bull Run Festival of Lights: Open daily through Jan. 5, including holidays.
Courts: Prince William County courts and Circuit Court Clerk of Court's office are closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Community center: The Manassas Park Community Center closes at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and is closed on Jan. 1.
Department of Motor Vehicles: Virginia DMV locations will be closed on Jan. 1.
Libraries: Prince William County Public Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 31 and be closed on Jan. 1.
OmniRide: There will be no bus service on Jan. 1.
Post offices: Closed on Jan. 1.
Recreation centers: Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31 and are closed on Jan. 1.
Trash and recycling: In the City of Manassas, collections will be pushed one day on Jan. 1, Jan. 2 and Jan. 3. The Prince William County Landfill Complex is closed on Jan. 1. For private trash collection services schedule changes, contact your hauler.
Virginia Railway Express: Running on an S schedule on Dec. 31 and closed on Jan. 1.
