Woman Killed In Manassas Home, Man Charged With Murder: Cops
Police say the woman was found unconscious near the home's front door. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

MANASSAS, VA — A man is facing murder charges after police say he assaulted a woman inside a Manassas home late Friday night who died at the scene.
According to Prince William County Police, authorities responded to a residence in the 8900 block of Rugby Road just after 11:45 p.m. Friday. Police say a caller contacted them on behalf of her neighbor who said he saw a family member assaulting the woman in his home.
Police say the woman, who is believed to be an acquaintance of the accused, was found unconscious near the front door of the residence. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the accused man was detained in another area of the home without further incident. Police identified the man as Dale Andrew Wolfe, 56, of Manassas. Wolfe is charged with murder and is being held without bond.
The homeowner of the Rugby Road residence, an 84-year-old man, was sleeping when he heard commotion and later saw the woman being assaulted with a blunt object when he went to check out the noise, according to police. The man was pushed aside by the accused when he attempted to intervene and sustained a minor injury, police said.

The homeowner fled to the neighbor's home from where police were contacted.
"The investigation further showed that the accused and the woman were involved in an altercation that escalated," police said in a press release.
The accused man suffered a laceration to his arm and was taken to the hospital. The homeowner was also taken to the hospital.
Police have not identified the victim. The investigation is ongoing.
