5 Years Later, Fatal Shooting Of Alexandria Resident In Lorton Unsolved

Fairfax County Police are trying to solve a 5-year-old homicide case that killed an Alexandria resident and injured another victim.

LORTON, VA — Five years later, Fairfax County detectives are still trying to solve the homicide of an Alexandria resident in Lorton.

On the night of Sept. 21, 2020, Fairfax County Police had found Leonard Brown, 37, of Alexandria, with an upper body gunshot wound in the 9800 block of Hagel Circle in Lorton. Brown was declared dead at the scene. An autopsy confirmed he was shot in the upper body.

A second victim with an upper body gunshot wound was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition and was later released.

The police department's homicide unit has continued to review evidence but has not identified a suspect. Video surveillance showed two people near the location just before the shooting. Officers had responded to the shooting around 9:22 p.m.
