A Romantic Surprise on the Waterfront

Fairfax man chooses Old Town's riverside to pop the question in an unusual fashion.

The Old Town waterfront is many things — including romantic.

Passersby strolling through the Old Town area the night before Thanksgiving may have done a double-take at the sight of giant, floating silver foam letters covered in lights.

“Marry Me Kim” shouted the letters, which was the message of choice from Vinh Diep to Kim Huynh, both of Fairfax. The letters were held by friends, who were in on the proposal.

The two plan to wed next September in a traditional ceremony in Falls Church that Huynh says "will most likely be fun,” according to a report in the Huffington Post.
