Alexandria Pedestrian Dies In Lincolnia Crash: Police
A crash just outside Alexandria city limits killing a pedestrian remains under investigation, Fairfax County Police say.

LINCOLNIA, VA — A pedestrian from Alexandria died in a crash in Lincolnia just outside city limits earlier in August, according to Fairfax County Police.
Around 12:06 a.m. on Aug. 1, officers responded to Little River Turnpike and Beauregard Street for a crash involving a pedestrian. Police say a 2003 Lincoln Town Car driver heading east on Little River Turnpike past Beauregard Street hit a pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The pedestrian was identified as Angel Benito Matom Velasco, 19, of Alexandria.

The Lincoln driver was not injured and remained on the scene. Police do not believe alcohol or speed were factors for the driver in the crash. The Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash.
