The Alexandria School Board race featured three candidates in each of three districts: School Board Districts A, B and C. There was no primary election for the school board, where candidates run as non-partisan. Voters could cast a ballot for up to three candidates in their assigned school board district.

The nine-member school board serves three-year terms and sets policies for Alexandria City Public Schools, including the annual budget.

As of 5 p.m., Mayor Justin Wilson shared that turnout stood at 73.38 of registered voters, including mail-in and early voting.

Along with school board, Alexandria voters had Alexandria mayor, Alexandria City Council, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, president and a Virginia constitutional amendment on the general election ballot.
