Alexandria School Threat Prompts Secure The Building Status
Alexandria Police responded on Tuesday as two school campuses received a threat.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A threat investigation Alexandria City High School prompted a brief secure the building status Tuesday, according to school and police officials.
At 11:25 a.m., the King Street campus entered a secure the building status due to an anonymous threat. The Minnie Howard Campus soon followed with the same status. A secure the building status means the normal school day continues inside the school, but no one can enter or leave.
Alexandria Police quickly responded to the scene. Alexandria Police said an investigation by its Intelligence Assessment Unit in the Homeland Security Section determined the threat was not credible.

Just before 1 p.m., the school said normal school day operations had resumed.
