Olympic Medalist Noah Lyles Returning To Alexandria For Celebration
Noah Lyles, who graduated from Alexandria's high school, will return to the city for a celebration rally after his Paris Olympics medals.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — After scoring two medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Noah Lyles will return to the city where he went to high school.
The City of Alexandria will host a celebration rally for Noah Lyles in partnership with Alexandria City Public Schools and The Lyles Brothers Sports Foundation. The rally will take place around Chinquapin Circle near Alexandria City High School from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 22. It will feature Lyles the Alexandria City High School Band and cheerleaders. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue.
Lyles, a 2016 of T.C. Williams High School (now Alexandria City High School), won gold in the men's 100m sprint and bronze in the men's 200m. He previously won a bronze medal in the men's 200m at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Lyles became a professional track and field athlete with his brother Josephus Lyles after high school. In 2022, he set the 200m American record and third-fastest time ever at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Lyles and his brother are part of Alexandria City High School's Athletic Hall of Fame.

As part of the rally, The Lyles Brothers Sports Foundation is hosting a coat drive. Attendees are asked to bring new or gently used coats to donate to Alexandrians in need.
Attendees are asked to RSVP, but walk-ins will be accepted. Limited Parking will be available at the Alexandria City High School garage, with overflow parking at First Baptist Church of Alexandria. Another option is DASH Bus routes 31 and 36 A/B.
