Walk for Homeless Animals on Sunday

Dog-loving Alexandria will see a steady stream of dogs promenading through Old Town on Sunday during the Animal Shelter Walk for Homeless Animals.

All proceeds from the walk go to supporting the programs and services of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

Online registration closes at noon on Friday but onsite registration is available prior to the 1.5 mile walk, which leaves from Market Square at 9 a.m.

The walk will happen even in inclement weather. No dog is required to walk, but participants are welcome to bring leashed dogs.

There are prizes for the highest fundraisers such as a $100 AMC theater giftcard for the highest youth fundraiser and the top fundraising team will receive a Potomac Riverboat party pack for team members and their friends and family.
