$235K Virginia Lottery Jackpot Won By NoVA Man
Playing random numbers in a Virginia Lottery game results in a big win for one Northern Virginia man.

HERNDON, VA — A Herndon man who works with computers and enjoys working with numbers won a $235, 000 jackpot from the Virginia Lottery recently.
Suriyaprakash Palanisamy told lottery officials that he was bored and decided to play the Cash 5 with EZ Match game with some random numbers in the July 22 drawing.
That turned out to be the right thing to do, because Palanisamy ended up winning the $235,000 jackpot, according to the lottery. His winning numbers were: 04-20-31-32-40.

“I’m very happy,” Palanisamy told lottery officials, who said he may use his winnings to help purchase a house.
All Virginia Lottery profits go to fund K-12 education in Virginia. Palanisamy is a resident of Fairfax County, which received more than $56 million last year in education funding from the lottery.

The odds of winning the Cash 5 with EZ Match jackpot by matching all five numbers are 1 in 1,221,759, according to the Virginia Lottery.
