3rd Annual Sweat for a Vet Event Gives Back to U.S. Veterans
Reston participants can sweat it out in group fitness classes for a great cause Nov. 8.

Sweat for a Vet 2014 aims to end veteran homelessness and provide supportive service to those who have served for the U.S.
Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Veterans Services Programs will pair up with all 23 Sport&Health club locations towards raising the $100,00 goal. Participants who donate $25 can partake in the group fitness classes Nov. 8.
“This is our 3rd year in partnership with Sport & Health” VOA Chesapeake President and CEO Russ Snyder said in a news release. “Their commitment and that of their members to supporting Veterans services throughout the region is unmatched and enables our organization to reach our most vulnerable veterans and their families.”

There are about 15,000 homeless people in the D.C. metro area and around one-third of them are U.S. veterans.
Those who pre-register online will get a Sweat for a Vet baseball cap and donations are appreciate. All are welcome to the event and nonmembers who make the donation will get a seven day membership card to the Sport&Health club and have a chance to win a free year at the club.

“Because we serve a significant military market around our clubs, we are always looking for way to give back to those that serve our country,” President and CEO of US Fitness Holdings, LLC Mark Fisher said in a news release.
The Veterans Services Organization serves more than 10,000 veterans every year.
