RESTON, VA — Starting on or about Wednesday, March 15, drivers making a right hand turn from Baron Cameron Avenue toward Route 7 will no longer use two right-hand lanes and stop at the intersection, according to a release from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Instead, drivers will follow a single right-hand lane onto eastbound Route 7. They'll then use a 1,000-foot acceleration lane to merge into traffic. The new traffic pattern is part of the ongoing Route 7 Corridor Improvements Project.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit on Route 7 has been reduced in the active work zones between Reston Avenue and Jarret Valley Drive. Drivers are also asked to remain alert when traveling through work zones and always keep and eye out for police officers or VDOT flaggers directing traffic.
