RESTON, VA — Motorists encountering long delays due to lane reconfigurations on Reston Parkway at Sunset Hills Road will soon see some relief, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation spokesman.

"The reconfiguration of the lanes will likely be completed this week, weather dependent," Alex Liggitt, VDOT's communications manager for the Northern Virginia, told Patch on Tuesday "Lane closures and intermittent stoppages will occur on southbound Reston Parkway as they are re-striping. Our operations engineering team is aware of the work and will be monitoring and retiming the signals as needed to continue to alleviate queues."

VDOT reconfigured the lanes last month to allow maintenance crews to inspect the Reston Parkway Bridge over the Dulles Toll Road.
