Man Arrested In Sexual Assault On Reston Path: Police
Police have arrested a man they say sexually assaulted a woman walking in Reston last month.

RESTON, VA — Police have arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault that happened on a path in Reston last month, police say.
Police charged 62-year-old Steven Edwards with abduction with intent to defile, accusing him of attacking a woman on the night of June 11 in the area of Reston Parkway and Baron Cameron Avenue, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"[T]he woman was on a nearby walking path when she was hit from behind and sexually assaulted," the report states. "She was taken to a hospital where she received medical treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening.

"Detectives worked diligently since the incident to identify and arrest Edwards who is a registered sex offender," the report states. "He was arrested this afternoon around 1:30 p.m. in the City of Fairfax."
He is being held without bond.
