New Nonstop Service From DC To Middle East Opens At Dulles Airport

Royal Jordanian opened a new nonstop service between Washington Dulles International Airport and Amman, Jordan on Tuesday.

DULLES, VA — Royal Jordanian airline began nonstop service on Tuesday between Washington Dulles International Airport and Amman, Jordan.

Representatives from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, the Jordanian Embassy, and Royal Jordanian participated in ceremonial ribbon-cutting Tuesday at Gate B37.

“This direct flight is more than just a flight. It’s really a milestone in this friendship and relationship we have between Jordan and the U.S.,” said Jordanian Ambassador to the U.S. Dina Kawar. “It will serve as a bridge for those traveling home and back and also those who want to discover Jordan. Travelers will experience the vibrant culture of Jordan, from the ancient ruins of Petra to the Dead Sea and the bustling city of Amman. I encourage everyone to go there.”

Royal Jordanian is the 47th airline to serve Dulles travelers, providing service between Virginia and Jordan with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

“Our goal is to increase tourism to our vibrant capital, Amman, which serves as the gateway to Jordan’s many breathtaking destinations—Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, just to name a few,” said Eyad Birouti, the director of network planning at Royal Jordanian. “We would love to see more American travelers experience these wonders firsthand. Washington, D.C., is a global hub, home to the diplomatic corps, international trade and business leaders. This new connection makes travel more seamless for these sectors.”

Flights to and from Dulles Airport and Amman will operate on the following schedule.
