Route 7 Reduced To 1 Lane In Great Falls During Thursday Night Commute

RESTON, VA — A portion of westbound Route 7 will be reduced to one lane of traffic Thursday afternoon and evening in order to allow for utility work in the Great Falls area, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane between Reston Parkway and Reston Avenue for the duration of the utility work.

While all businesses, residences, and public facilities will be accessible, drivers can expect to encounter delays from slow-moving vehicles and equipment accessing the roadway Thursday evening.

Drivers are asked to remain alert, exercise caution, and follow directions of potential flaggers or police officers. In addition, the speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour in active work zones on Route 7.
