Silver Line Service Adjusted This Weekend Due To Repair Work

RESTON, VA — Residents taking Metro's Silver line into Washington, D.C. this weekend will encounter an adjustment to service due to ongoing track work and capital construction.

On Saturday and Sunday, service on the Silver line will only run between the Reston and Federal Center SW stations. Rider with destinations further into the city will need to switch over to the Blue line. Silver line trains will be departing every 24 minutes. These changes in service may not be noted on Metro's Trip Planner schedules.

This weekend, Metrorail will operate from 7 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, and 8 a.m. to midnight on Sunday.

Metro currently has two major capital construction projects underway that may require adjustments to its services.

The West Hyattsville, Prince George's Plaza, College Park-U of Md and Greenbelt stations are closed through Sept. 6 for platform reconstruction and improvements. Shuttle service will be provided between stations.

The Red line is also single-tracking between the Dupont and Van Ness stations through Aug. 29 as part of Metro's Tunnel Ventilation Improvement Project.
