Tysons Casino Money: $1.2M Donated By Comstock Holdings, Allies
Patch looks at how much money the developer behind the casino proposal made in political donations from January 2022 to February 2024.

RESTON, VA — Comstock Holding Companies, its associates and employees donated a total of $1,247,993 in contributions to political candidates and political action committees between Jan. 1, 2022 and Jan. 31, 2024, according to state finance filings reported by the nonprofit Virginia Public Access Project.
Patch first reported last September that the Reston-based developer was planning to build a casino somewhere on Metro's Silver Line outside of the Capital Beltway in Fairfax County.
On Jan.17, 2024, Sen. Dave Marsden (D-Burke) introduced Senate Bill 675, which would give the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors the authority to put a casino referendum on a future ballot, an authority that the board did not request. Language in the bill limited the location of the proposed casino to one of three Metro stations in Tysons. On Feb. 6, the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee voted to hold over SB 675 to the 2025 legislative session.
