Hopewell ticket wins $1 million in Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle, other winners announced (wric.com) — Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle produced five $1 million winners statewide, including a top-prize ticket sold in nearby Hopewell. Richmonders should double-check their numbers too, since a $100,000 winning ticket was sold at the Kroger on North Lombardy Street, along with hundreds of smaller prizes across Virginia.

Fairfax resident to lead Virginia's diversity efforts under Gov.-elect Spanberger (ffxnow.com) — Richmond residents may be interested that Dr. Sesha Joi Moon, a Richmond native and co-founder of the JXN Project focused on Jackson Ward, has been tapped as Virginia’s next chief diversity officer under Gov.-elect Abigail Spanberger. Moon’s background includes work in Congress, Girl Scouts USA, and endowments supporting Richmond Public Schools, and she’ll help shape statewide DEI policy as Virginia’s political leadership shifts direction.
