2. Highland Grove project in Richmond receives $2.5 million to build affordable homes (wric.com) — Richmond’s Highland Grove community in Northside is getting a $2.5 million boost to build 53 new affordable for-sale homes for middle-income buyers. City leaders and local housing nonprofits say the mixed-income project, underway since 2012, will expand homeownership options and support inclusive economic growth, with new homes expected to be finished through 2027.
   

3. Former NICU nurse expected to plead guilty to child abuse charges (nbc12.com) — Richmond-area readers should know that a former Henrico Doctors’ Hospital NICU nurse is expected to enter a guilty or no-contest plea next Thursday in Henrico Circuit Court on multiple felony child abuse charges involving nine infants. A plea agreement has been reached but remains sealed until the hearing, where the judge can accept, reject, or seek changes after weighing victims’ families’ input and sentencing guidelines.
   

4. ACLU Virginia files emergency motion against lawsuit over undocumented students' in-state tuition (13newsnow.com) — Richmond-based ACLU of Virginia has filed an emergency motion in federal court to oppose a Trump administration lawsuit challenging in-state tuition for undocumented students at Virginia public colleges. The group argues the state’s immigrant students, many educated in Virginia high schools, could abruptly lose crucial tuition support if the Justice Department and Attorney General Jason Miyares prevail.
