"Roeth is genuine and kind. He values his family and community," says his former Kindergarten teacher.

Roanoke, VA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Sueann Tupy who nominated Roeth, a seventh grade student in Roanoke, VA. According to his former Kindergarten teacher, Roeth is considered a role model for his school, he participates in travel soccer, dance club and yoga and is a musician in the school orchestra.

How do you know the star local student?
I was his Kindergarten Teacher
Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Roeth has been an amazing student in the seven years I have known him. He was in my Spanish Immersion kindergarten class seven years ago. He was a shy and curious 5-year-old. Over the years, he became a role model for our school and was kind and proactive. Roeth went on to excel in travel soccer and academics. He is active in a youth dance club and has been a Yoga Ambassador over the years. He has assisted me with events to share mindfulness and yoga as life-long skills. Roeth is also a musician who plays and enjoys being in the school orchestra. He loves to cook for his family and share with others.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Roeth is genuine and kind. He values his family and community.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Roeth!
