Alexandria Woman IDed As Fatality In Fairfax Co. Parkway Crash
A 48-year-old Alexandria woman was identified as the driver who was fatally injured Saturday in a crash on Fairfax County Parkway.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — Fairfax County police identified 48-year-old Jan Clayton of Alexandria as the driver who was fatally injured in a crash Saturday morning on the Fairfax County Parkway in Springfield, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 7:45 a.m. to investigate the report of a crash on the parkway at the Huntsman Boulevard intersection.
"Preliminarily, a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling northbound on Fairfax County Parkway when the driver lost control and crossed into the southbound lanes," according to the incident report. "The driver of a 2023 Ford F-150, traveling southbound, struck the Chevrolet. The driver of a 2025 Honda HR-V, also traveling southbound, was unable to brake in time and rear-ended the Ford F-150."

Clayton, who was the driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. The drivers of the other two vehicles here uninjured.

While alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, investigators were working to determine if speed was a factor, according to FCPD.
