• The Erol's Video Club Locations Many Maryland and Northern VA Kids Grew Up With (mocoshow.com) — Many longtime residents will remember that the last Erol’s repair shop stood in Springfield capping the rise and fall of a beloved regional video and internet brand. This nostalgic look back traces how Erol’s grew from a TV repair shop into a 250-store video chain and early internet provider. It also lists former locations in West Springfield, North Springfield, Burke, and other nearby communities. 
• Jury seated as Brendan Banfield murder trial gets underway (fox5dc.com) — A Fairfax County murder trial now underway involves a Springfield man who was allegedly lured to a Herndon home and killed, along with the defendant’s wife. Jurors will spend about four weeks hearing graphic testimony about the deaths and an alleged affair with the family’s au pair. The outcome could mean life in prison for the former federal employee.
