VIDEO: Credit Card Thief Racks Up $2,400 in Purchases in One Day: Police
Police: Woman stole credit card from victim's purse at La Madeleine in Bailey's Crossroads, then used it that day at area businesses.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police are hoping someone recognizes a woman they say used stolen credit cards to purchase more than $2,400 worth of merchandise at three businesses, according to Fairfax County Police.
Police released a surveillance video Monday that they say shows the woman making a fraudulent purchase using the stolen credit card.
The victim, a 47-year-old woman, reported that her wallet and credit cards were stolen from the La Madeleine restaurant, located at 5861 Crossroads Center, in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County, on Saturday, July 16 between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

An investigation determined a female suspect allegedly stole the wallet from the victim’s purse at the restaurant, then used the credit cards the same day to make fraudulent purchases at a nearby Target, Best Buy and Toys R Us store, all in the Bailey's Crossroads area, according to police.

The suspect was described as white, in her late 30s to early 40s and approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 160 pounds, with dark brown hair. She was wearing a white sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
