Luncheon Fundraiser To Feature Two Award-Winning Authors

Assistance League Luncheon Will Benefit Programs for Children and Families In Need

Assistance League of Northern Virginia is excited to announce it has scheduled its first fundraiser luncheon in four years. After such a long wait, you know it will be BIG.

On Sunday, April 30, Assistance League is hosting A LITERARY LUNCHEON & FUNDRAISER, at which two award-winning authors – Sean McFate and Judith Pearson -- will discuss their books. Peggy Fox will be the moderator.

It’s all happening at the Springfield Golf & Country Club, 8301 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA, 22152. The luncheon starts at noon, with time beforehand to meet the authors, learn about the philanthropic programs that will benefit from this fundraiser, and preview the live auction items.

Dr. McFate is a foreign policy expert and professor at Georgetown University whose books reflect his experience and service as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. In his latest thriller, High Treason, the action is non-stop. James Patterson says that Dr. McFate may be the next Tom Clancy – possibly even better.

Ms. Pearson’s best-known book, “Wolves at the Door….” tells the story of Virginia Hall, a spy for the Allies during WWII who escaped Nazi pursuit by walking across the Pyrenees while using her wooden prosthesis.
