Pedestrian Killed In Alexandria Single-Vehicle Crash: Police
The striking vehicle remained on scene before the driver went to the hospital, according to Alexandria Police.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A pedestrian was killed in a crash in the West End Wednesday morning, according to Alexandria Police.
The crash happened around 6:07 a.m. in the area of Seminary Road and Fairbanks Avenue. A vehicle struck an adult male pedestrian and remained on the scene. The vehicle driver, a 56-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian died of his injuries and was identified as Simon Merino.
This area of Seminary Road has two travel lanes in each direction with a speed limit of 35 mph. The eastbound direction increases to three lanes and a left turn lane are located at the N. Beauregard Street intersection.
