Traffic was snarled along part of Seminary Road as emergency crews work on a pedestrian accident.
Update 9:30 a.m. - Alexandria officials say Seminary Road is now open.

Alexandria City officials sent out the following information this morning:
Seminary Road between Dawes and Beauregard is closed in both directions due to an accident involving a pedestrian. Emergency crews are on scene and will keep the road closed while they investigate. Please avoid the area for this morning's commute.

Traffic reports indicate heavy traffic on I-395 northbound as well as on sidestreets on and around the I-395/Seminary Road interchange.
