LEGO Shop Holds Grand Opening In Woodbridge With Free Items For First 100

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A business opening Saturday is about all things LEGO, including buying and trading used items.

Bricks & Minifigs Woodbridge, a family-owned local franchise, has its grand opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Potomac Festival shopping center, 14519 Potomac Mills Road, Woodbridge, VA. The business specializes in buying, selling and trading new and used LEGO sets, bulk bricks, and minifigures, also known as minifigs.

Bricks & Minifigs Woodbridge will be family run. Katherine Watson is the owner, and her husband, Adam, will help as needed in between his corporate job. Their oldest son, Eli, inspired the store and will be the manager overseeing daily operations. The other two children, Leah, 16, and Zoe, 14, will attend home-school and work in the store after school.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring Bricks & Minifigs to Woodbridge as a safe place for people of all abilities to work, learn and play," said Katherine Watson in a news release. "LEGO has always had a major influence in our children’s lives and is still an essential learning tool as I homeschool my neurodivergent kids. We just want to share that with others in our community."

The store will have tens of thousands of pieces to choose from, allowing customers to get pieces for their favorite sets or create custom projects. Staff will be able to assist customers of all ages to envision projects.

The business will also have an event space for birthday parties and special LEGO-themed events. During the week, the space will be offered for drop-in homeschoolers.

During the grand opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday, the first 100 customers will get a free customized Bricks & Minifigs Woodbridge minifig. Other giveaways will be offered throughout the day.

Bricks & Minifigs was founded in Portland, Oregon in 2009 and now has over 160 franchise locations in North America.
