Free Italian Ice, Specials Planned During Woodbridge Taste of Rita's

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Residents in Woodbridge will have a chance to cool off with a Taste of Rita's with free Italian ice and other specials.

The Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard location at 13265 Worth Ave. in Woodbridge will host a Taste of Rita's at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15. Starting at 5 p.m., the first 100 guests in line will get a free small Rita's Italian ice. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., guests can enjoy photo opportunities with the Rita’s mascot, Ice Guy, a DJ performance, a face painter and merchandise giveaways.

The shop is providing specials in the days leading up to the event:

• Shake it Off Monday (Aug. 11): $5 Small Milkshakes
• Free Topping Tuesday (Aug. 12): First Topping Free
• Wake Up Wednesday (Aug. 13): $4 Small Frozen Coffee
• Thirsty Thursday (Aug. 14): $4 Small Gelati Blender

The Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard location in Woodbridge opened in late May and is owned by husband and wife duo Terrain and Toya Davis. The couple was motivated to open the business to share frozen treats and make a positive impact in the community. Most of their employees work their first jobs.

Hours are 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays to Thursdays and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
