Man Sleeping When Burglar Tried To Break Into Woodbridge Condo: PWCPD

Prince William County police said the owner of the apartment woke to a loud noise and saw someone trying to get into his condo.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The Prince William County Police Department is looking for a person who tried to break into someone's condo while they slept.

On Tuesday at 5:45 p.m., officers responded to the Potomac Point Condos located in the 1600 block of Ladue Ct. in Woodbridge to investigate an attempted burglary.

Police said the owner of the apartment woke to a loud noise. After getting up to see where the nose was coming from, the front door handle was observed being manipulated.

After a brief verbal encounter through the door with the person, the door handle stopped moving and no additional attempts to enter the apartment were made.

At no point during the encounter was the person able to get into the condo, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, between 30-40 years of age, and approximately 5 foot, 3 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a red stripped shirt and pants.
