Man With Violent History Arrested For Shooting Gun In Woodbridge Neighborhood
Police said the man was intoxicated and was banging on the door of a residence.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge man convicted of several violent crimes is facing several new charges after police said he fired a gun and banged on the door of a home in his neighborhood.
Jorge Anthony Sandoval, 27, was arrested and charged with multiple weapons counts, possession with intent to distribute a narcotic, public intoxication and obstruction of justice following the Saturday incident, Prince William County police said in a news release.
According to police, officers responded to the 15000 block of Illinois Road in Woodbridge around 10 a.m. after receiving a report of shots fired. Police said a person inside a dark-colored sedan had fired multiple rounds into the air as the vehicle drove down the road.

No injuries or property damage were reported, Prince William County police said.
A short time later, a resident at a home on nearby Maryland Avenue reported that an unknown man wearing a mask was banging loudly on their door. The man was later identified as Sandoval, police said.

Sandoval was quickly detained by responding officers, who determined he was intoxicated, police said.
A discarded gun with an extended magazine was located nearby, police said. Sandoval was also found in possession of an additional magazine, ammunition and suspected narcotics, according to authorities. Investigators said the firearm and ammunition matched casings found on Illinois Road.
Sandoval has a lengthy criminal history in Virginia, according to online court records.
In 2016, Sandoval was arrested for felony hit-and-run and eluding police. He was convicted and sentenced to three years in jail with all three years suspended, plus five years of probation, according to court records reviewed by InsideNoVA.
In 2018, Sandoval was charged with murder, but a jury later acquitted and convicted him of being a violent felon in possession of a weapon. In 2021, he was convicted of unlawful wounding after he entered the cell of two other inmates at the Prince William-Manassas regional jail and struck them multiple times.
Sandoval remains in jail, where he is being held without bond.
